Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Montclair, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Call Requirement: 9 days per month
- Travel Radius: Must be willing to travel at least 50 miles; local candidates not accepted
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT CI (Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography) or ARRT R (Radiography)
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Employment and work history verification for the past 7 years (NJ requires minimum 1 year verified with no gaps over 30 days)
- Required federal checks upon hire: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required with proper documentation (no history-only records accepted):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, full series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted) during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Competency & Documentation
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Complete employment application/resume required
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Fingerprinting and other location-specific requirements may apply but are not relevant for this location
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance required
