Medical Lab Technician Travel/Contract Position
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position: Medical Lab Technician (MLT)
- Specialty: Laboratory
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Must have prior travel experience (no local candidates)
- Must hold an active, unrestricted Louisiana state license
Required Qualifications
- Valid Medical Lab Technician license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Lab Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG screenings
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual renewal
- Annual respirator fit testing (fit mask)
- 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and competency exams as required
Health and Vaccination Requirements
- Influenza vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation
- COVID-19 vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with facility-specific forms
- Other immunization documentation (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella) may be collected but are not required for start or employment
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete assigned Healthstream courses during orientation, including glucose testing competency if applicable
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and procedures
- This position requires working evening shifts and adherence to all clinical and safety standards
