Description
Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Travel)
Location: Webster, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit has 4 rooms and 10 staff members
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 Endoscopy Technicians
- Night Shift: On-call staff includes 1 RN and 1 Tech
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 for procedures, 1:2 in PACU
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
- Endoscopy experience in both GI and Pulmonology specialties
- Solid PACU experience (required if no Endoscopy experience)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Preferred Skills
- PACU experience is preferred
Typical Procedures
- EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
- Colonoscopy
- ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
- Bronchoscopy
- Ion Robot Bronchoscopy
- EGD with Ultrasound
Work Environment & Expectations
- Floating areas include PACU and Preoperative units
- On-call requirement: 1-2 days per week and 1 weekend per month
- Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
- Personality fit: Outgoing and team-oriented
