Description
Echo Tech
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Shift: Full-time, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Patient Population: Primarily adult echocardiography patients with occasional pediatric telemetry patients
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekend every 5th week
On-Call Requirement: On call 1 week every 5th week
Patient Volume: 6-8 echocardiograms per day
Job Summary
Perform quality diagnostic echocardiography procedures independently, responding appropriately to cardiologists' input. Support team initiatives and align behavior and communication with organizational values and culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine echocardiograms to evaluate heart defects or disease
- Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms
- Perform stress echocardiograms to assess coronary artery disease
- Notify physicians daily for exam interpretation
- Monitor and check supplies weekly
- Provide patient care adapted to age-specific and developmental needs
- Adhere to core organizational values
- Perform other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
- High School Diploma
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Certification as DCS, RCS, or RDMS through ARDMS or CCI
