Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – IMC (Intermediate Care)

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM – 07:15 PM)
  • Unit: Intermediate Care (IMC) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6 depending on unit
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required; schedule based on operational needs
  • Float Requirements: Must float to Telemetry and/or Medical-Surgical units as needed
  • Patient Care: Bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients, including ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, and use of lift equipment
  • Orientation: Weekly orientation available; ASAP start preferred
  • Scrubs: Not provided; Caribbean blue scrubs recommended

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience working in an inpatient setting

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Check: Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Drug Screen: Negative drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Health Requirements:
    • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
    • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
    • Annual N95 fit test (client may complete onsite if needed)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Work History: Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
  • Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology competency exam and general competency exam with minimum passing score of 80% within 3 years of start

Additional Notes

  • Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function
  • Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
  • I-9 and E-Verify attestations required upon hire
  • Photo for badge must meet specified criteria (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
  • Scrubs are not provided; bring Caribbean blue scrubs
