Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: Clinton, Maryland

Job Description

• Position involves working in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with Pediatric PACU, Phase I, Phase II recovery, and Pre-post experience required.
• ICU experience is required.
• Shift schedule: 4x10 hour shifts per week, evening (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) rotations.
• Call required approximately 5-6 times per six-week period (day/evening).
• Float to cover ICU required.
• Weekend shifts: 2 weekends per 6 weeks.
• Scrubs provided.
• Cerner electronic health record system experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 1 year of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, with PACU experience within the last year
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system

Additional Information

• Must be able to float to ICU as needed.
• Call and weekend shifts are part of the schedule.
• Facility requires strict adherence to immunization and health screening policies.
• Documentation and compliance with all background checks, drug screens, and certifications must be maintained and up to date.
• Physical and health requirements must be met to ensure safe patient care.
• Candidates must provide a clear photo for badge issuance.
• References and employment history must be complete and verifiable with no gaps.

Shift Details

• Evening shift: 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (40 hours/week)

This position is ideal for RNs with ICU and pediatric PACU experience seeking a travel contract with a structured evening/night rotation and opportunities to float to ICU.
