Respiratory Therapist (Nights) - Contract in Colorado

Job Summary
Provide safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by physicians, with emphasis on specialty areas including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care. Responsibilities include monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, blood work interpretation, teaching, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver all respiratory care procedures according to department policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory care activities.
- Verify physician respiratory care orders.
- Participate in patient care rounds, department in-services, and meetings.
- Communicate patient status effectively during shift reports.
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care instruments and equipment.
- Perform airway management including bag/mask ventilation and suctioning.
- Assist with intubation under supervision.
- Perform arterial blood gas draws.
- Initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients; interpret ventilator data to guide clinical decisions.
- Train and orient new employees and students.
- Comply with personal protective equipment and infection control protocols.
- Reconcile patient charges and verify time submission for payroll.
- Assess and provide care tailored to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional dress code and conduct standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
