Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Sumter, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Schedule: No weekends

Job Description

• Full-time Radiation Therapist position working 40 hours per week.
• Floating policy applies: agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses within the health system based on census needs.
• Floating assignments will only be to units where the staff member is qualified and has demonstrated competencies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in South Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience.
• Radiation Therapist experience within the last year.

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Background check covering 7 years, completed within 12 months of start.
• Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• E-Verify or attestation required.
• Various federal and state-level sanction and exclusion checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation.
• Immunization and health document requirements including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (if working in high-risk areas).
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually.
  • Documentation for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination).
• Annual competency exams and training modules must be completed and passed prior to start.

Orientation & Training

• Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment.
• Pre-assignment testing (medication and arrhythmia tests) required for RNs; confirm if applicable.
• Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, plain background, no obstructions).
• Floating policy acknowledgment and contractor acknowledgment forms must be signed.

Additional Notes

• Staff must carry a valid driver's license and state ID while on duty.
• Staff must comply with floating policy and demonstrate competencies for floated units.
• Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable.
• All certifications and licenses must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of start.
• Candidates must have verifiable documentation for all health and compliance requirements.
• Candidates should be prepared for a stable internet connection and computer access for online modules and testing.
