Pharmacist Travel Job – Tucson, Arizona
Job Summary
- Responsible for safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages in an inpatient acute hospital setting.
- Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing.
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians regarding medications.
- Participate in medication safety initiatives, patient profile management, adverse drug reaction reporting.
- Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
- Maintain narcotic accountability.
- Work schedule: Overnight shift, 7 nights on / 7 nights off, 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Workdays: Wednesday through Tuesday.
- No on-call duties.
- Hospital unit size: 44 beds plus Emergency Department.
- Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Arizona.
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in an inpatient setting.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
Work Environment & Conditions
- Clean, smoke-free, well-lit healthcare environment.
- Frequent interruptions and multiple inquiries requiring sound judgment.
- Exposure to unpleasant clinical elements (accidents, injuries, illness).
- Occasional irregular hours.
- Use of video display terminals and keyboards extensively.
Contract Details
- Travel assignment.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- 40 hours per week.
