Description

Pharmacist Travel Job – Tucson, Arizona

Job Summary

  • Responsible for safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages in an inpatient acute hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing.
  • Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians regarding medications.
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives, patient profile management, adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
  • Maintain narcotic accountability.
  • Work schedule: Overnight shift, 7 nights on / 7 nights off, 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
  • Workdays: Wednesday through Tuesday.
  • No on-call duties.
  • Hospital unit size: 44 beds plus Emergency Department.
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pharmacist license in Arizona.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience in an inpatient setting.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Clean, smoke-free, well-lit healthcare environment.
  • Frequent interruptions and multiple inquiries requiring sound judgment.
  • Exposure to unpleasant clinical elements (accidents, injuries, illness).
  • Occasional irregular hours.
  • Use of video display terminals and keyboards extensively.

Contract Details

  • Travel assignment.
  • Contract length: 13 weeks.
  • 40 hours per week.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve key goals.
