Job Description
- Work shifts: Night, 4 shifts of 12 hours each, every other week (EOW), including holidays
- Float between NICU, Pediatric acute care, and Adult acute care units (this is a requirement)
- Respiratory care duties include airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Unit settings: General Care, NICU, Pediatrics, and Adult Intensive Care
- Preferred experience with trauma, teaching hospital, and ER settings
- Preferred familiarity with bronchoscopes, Cerner documentation system, and equipment such as Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 ventilators
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- NBRC certification (RRT required)
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

- First-time travelers are accepted
- Indiana RN travelers are restricted from starting new contracts after 9/9/2024 for most inpatient roles; exceptions apply for perioperative, allied, and ambulatory RN roles (not applicable to this position)
- Facility-specific compliance and orientation documents must be completed prior to start
- On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and not at certain campuses
- PAPR use requires prior facility approval except at designated campuses where it is automatically approved
Summary
This travel Respiratory Therapist role requires a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, Indiana licensure, and multiple certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP. The position involves working night shifts with a floating assignment across NICU, pediatric, and adult acute care units. Compliance with extensive health screenings, immunizations, background checks, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
