Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location

  • Titusville, Florida

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Mandatory 5 shifts for clinical orientation week (36-40 hours)
  • No block scheduling allowed
  • No RTO (Request Time Off) during the first or last week of assignment
  • Floating within scope required, including rapid response team duties
  • Patient ratio experience required: 1:6
  • Must be willing to work holidays as scheduled (1 evening and 1 holiday if 1-2 holidays fall within assignment; 1 evening and 2 holidays if 3 holidays fall within assignment)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Rapid Response team experience
  • Experience with total joint patients

Orientation & Training

  • Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
  • Approximately 4 hours required to complete modules before start date
  • Facility-specific eLearning and Elsevier modules assigned about 2 weeks prior to start; must be completed before starting
  • Non-employee orientation quiz and forms are time sensitive and must be completed ASAP
  • Fit testing for masks completed onsite during first week
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams required (passing score 84% or higher)
  • Color blindness test required (passing score 80% or higher)

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check within 6 months including social security trace, education verification, and nationwide checks
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
  • Education verification of RN degree (ASN, BSN, or MSN) required; transcripts acceptable as placeholder
  • Drug screen (9-panel) within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted as final)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Seasonal Flu (or declination)
    • COVID-19 (or declination with facility-specific exemption forms)
  • Annual vaccination program acknowledgment and declination forms as applicable
  • Two professional references within 2 years required
  • Performance evaluation within last year required if previously worked through any agency
  • Skills checklist required

Additional Notes

  • No local candidates; must live more than 30 miles from facility
  • Three call outs result in termination
  • Refusal to change shifts with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiting guaranteed hours; refusal with 1 week or more notice may result in termination
  • Scrub color: Any
  • Must sign multiple facility-specific acknowledgments and forms including confidentiality, tobacco-free policy, orientation packets, and timecard expectations

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with high acuity mixed units, rapid response duties, and flexible scheduling including holidays and floating. Compliance with extensive facility-specific requirements and certifications is mandatory.
