Description

Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Hours per week: 36


Job Description

  • Provide total care for ICU patients in a 12-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:2-3.
  • Manage ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene.
  • Floating required to Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) departments:
    • ER float duties include assisting with call lights, medication passes, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws (no full patient assignments).
    • Med Surg float duties may require taking a full assignment of up to 6 patients or acting as an aide for up to 12 patients.
  • No call required.
  • Holidays are required.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: MedHost.
  • Scrub color: Any.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
  • Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing

Additional Information

  • Floating schedule is managed via a float log with rotation; exceptions may be made based on ER staffing needs.
  • Blocked scheduling may be accommodated but must be specified in the submission.
  • 48-hour guaranteed hours are not approved.
