Description
ICU Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30 - 7:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- ICU Night shift with option of 36 or 48 hours per week (48 hours typical)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
- Float required
- Weekend shifts required
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 form and E-Verify compliance required
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID required
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Education verification of highest level completed (transcript or diploma accepted temporarily if needed)
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only); must be redone for every new contract
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Photo headshot required for badge
- Employment application/resume required
- 7-year work history verification required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- References not required for clearance but may be requested internally
Additional Notes
- Candidates can attend orientation and EPIC training pending fingerprint clearance but cannot work on unit until clearance is received
- Medical exemptions for vaccines must be signed by a provider and approved by the client
- Religious declinations for vaccines are not accepted (except flu with exemption documentation)
- Behavioral Health nurses require specific competency-based training prior to start (not applicable here unless specified)
