Description
Job Opportunity: Rural Med/Surg RN
Location: Portales, New Mexico
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift (6 PM - 6 AM)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a rural community acute care hospital setting.
- Typical patient ratio is 5:1.
- Tele-intensivist support available via Avel.
- Occasional charge nurse responsibilities.
- Pediatric admissions possible.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year.
- Experience in charge nurse roles.
- Certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Trauma Training (ATT), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), STABLE program certification, Advanced Surgical Life Support (ASLS), National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), and Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).
Additional Information
- Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
- Prior travel experience is required.
