Registered Nurse - ICU

Unit: ICU/CCU
Number of beds: 16
Patient ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
Staffing: Unit secretaries and tech availability varies; tech staffed depending on census
Scheduling: 36 hours per week
Floating: Float in rotation with core staffing
Documentation system: Meditech

Equipment and Procedures

Equipment used: Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, Hemodynamic monitoring
Procedures performed: Central line insertions, dialysis catheter insertions

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Certification

Required License

Registered Nurse (RN) license

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in ICU or critical care specialty

Advanced clinical skills relevant to ICU care

Work Environment

Team-oriented with a mix of experienced staff on day and night shifts

Scrubs of any color allowed

Staff have engaged in community support activities, e.g., making blankets for hospice patients

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kentucky
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
ICU experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
