Echo Tech (Radiology) - Travel Position
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform quality diagnostic echocardiography procedures independently, responding appropriately to cardiologists' input. Responsible for related tasks as assigned and promoting team-building within the service line and departments. Communication and behavior must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine echocardiograms to evaluate possible heart defects or disease.
- Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate coronary artery disease.
- Notify physicians daily for exam interpretation and check weekly for needed supplies.
- Provide patient care that meets age-specific and developmental needs, adapting assessment and treatment accordingly.
- Adhere to core organizational values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Rotating weekend every 5th week
- On-call one week every 5th week
- Patient volume: 6-8 echocardiograms per day
Required Qualifications
- Echo Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
- High School Diploma
- BLS certification
- Certification as DCS, RCS, or RDMS
- Certification through ARDMS or CCI
Additional Information
- Patient population primarily adult echo with occasional pediatric telemetry
- Temp-to-perm possibility
