Description

Echo Tech (Radiology) - Travel Position

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Perform quality diagnostic echocardiography procedures independently, responding appropriately to cardiologists' input. Responsible for related tasks as assigned and promoting team-building within the service line and departments. Communication and behavior must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine echocardiograms to evaluate possible heart defects or disease.
  • Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate coronary artery disease.
  • Notify physicians daily for exam interpretation and check weekly for needed supplies.
  • Provide patient care that meets age-specific and developmental needs, adapting assessment and treatment accordingly.
  • Adhere to core organizational values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
  • Rotating weekend every 5th week
  • On-call one week every 5th week
  • Patient volume: 6-8 echocardiograms per day

Required Qualifications

  • Echo Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Echo Technologist experience within the last year
  • High School Diploma
  • BLS certification
  • Certification as DCS, RCS, or RDMS
  • Certification through ARDMS or CCI

Additional Information

  • Patient population primarily adult echo with occasional pediatric telemetry
  • Temp-to-perm possibility
