Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool (Days)
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced RN to work primarily in Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units. The role requires ICU experience with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical as needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
- Document care according to standards.
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Stepdown unit experience
- Stroke nursing experience
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
