Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary

Job Type

• Contractor
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call duties
• Holiday work based on facility needs
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Critical care experience including:

  • Trachs
  • Nitrous oxide procedures
  • Proning techniques
  • ECMO
  • Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention and management
  • Arterial blood gas (ABG) draws
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications issued by the American Heart Association

Patient Care & Environment

• 1:1 patient ratios
• Patient population includes neonates through geriatric respiratory patients
• Facility provides ample PPE including N95 masks
• Scrub color requirement: Charcoal Gray
• Free parking available

Orientation & Support

• One-day orientation on the unit
• Unit support includes a supervisor
• Potential floating to other hospitals within the primary service area may be required

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with strong critical care skills and experience across all patient age groups, who are comfortable working night shifts in a high-acuity environment.
