Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical care tailored to the patient population served in the Emergency Department. The RN coordinates and implements patient care, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency consistent with unit standards. The role requires professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS Certification issued by the American Heart Association or ENPC
- TNCC or ATCN certification
Skills and Knowledge
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the Emergency Department patient population
- Sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery
- Clear and age-appropriate communication skills
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
- Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment
- Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations
- Prolonged standing and walking; heavy physical effort required for patient positioning and equipment handling
- Physical abilities include reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and good visual and hearing acuity
- Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required
Supervision
Reports to Patient Care Director or Manager
