MRI Technologist

Location: Danville, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Department: Radiology - MRI
• Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Tuesday – Friday)
• Hours per week: 36 (9 hours per day)
• Weekend call: Rotating weekend call, 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM call only
• Holiday requirements: None
• Call/Standby: Specific weekend call guidelines apply
• Orientation: On-site, 12 non-billable hours
• Scrub color/dress code: Any color scrubs allowed; scrubs are not provided

Job Duties & Work Environment

• Imaging focus: Majority neuro and orthopedic MRI scans; no cardiac or breast imaging
• Average scans per day: 4 to 12
• Equipment: GE 1.5 Tesla Voyager MRI scanner
• EMR/PACS: Uses PIC for medical records and PACS for images
• IV starts: Required (venipuncture skills needed)
• Floating: No coverage of other areas required
• Radiologist: No in-house radiologist
• Registered Radiology Assistants: Not used

Required Qualifications

• Certification: ARRT (MR) certified MRI Technologist
• License: Active Illinois license or proof of application initiation required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Experience: MRI experience required
• Skills: Venipuncture (IV start) skills required
• Drug screen: Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels
• Local clinicians: Clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles may have a local rate adjustment

Additional Notes

• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks with no penalty or payback required
• Orientation hours do not count toward guaranteed hours

This position is suitable for MRI Technologists with ARRT certification and Illinois licensure who are comfortable with neuro and orthopedic imaging, IV starts, and working a day shift with rotating weekend call.
