Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Night Shift
Location
- Titusville, Florida

- 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Night shift, 3 shifts per week
- 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Unit and Patient Acuity
- Mixed unit with high acuity patients
- Patient ratio experience required: 1:6
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
- Experience with rapid response teams
- Experience caring for total joint patients
Schedule and Orientation
- Mandatory clinical orientation week: 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- Floating required within scope of practice
- No block scheduling allowed
- No return to office (RTO) during first or last week of assignment
- Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required except for PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
- Facility-specific orientation and safety acknowledgements
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Florida with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required)
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 6 months including social security trace, education verification, sex offender registry, and nationwide checks
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Education verification of ASN, BSN, or MSN degree (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted as final)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (if applicable)
- COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination forms required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers or approved waivers)
- Completion of facility-specific eLearning modules prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
- References: Two professional references within last 2 years
- Performance evaluation within last year if previously worked through any agency
- Skills checklist required
Additional Requirements and Notes
- Must be able to float within the unit as needed
- Strict attendance policy: 3 call outs result in termination
- Shift change refusals with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiting guaranteed hours; refusals with 1 week or more notice may result in termination
- If 1-2 holidays fall within assignment, must work 1 evening and 1 holiday shift; if 3 holidays, must work 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with high acuity mixed units, night shifts, and floating responsibilities, who meet all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida with primary source verification
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience working on Rapid Response teams
- Experience caring for total joint patients
- Experience with floating within nursing units
