Job Opportunity: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Toppenish, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Total Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 10-year criminal background check including SSN trace, alias/name changes, statewide and national checks, sex offender registry, and education verification
• Washington State Patrol (WSP/WATCH) search required within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Employment application including all states lived/worked in must be submitted

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam with physician-signed health statement within 1 year of start
• Fit testing for N95 mask performed onsite; required annually
• Negative TB test (QGold or T-SPOT) within 30 days of start; chest X-ray if positive test within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Tdap vaccine or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination required by November 1 (declinations accepted with mask requirement)
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, no instant tests accepted)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, plain white background)
• Completion of Code of Conduct Acknowledgement prior to documentation due date
• Completion of new employee information and onboarding paperwork prior to start
• Fit test onsite after orientation
• Confidentiality and use agreements must be signed

• Candidates must have license and certifications in hand before start
• Regional facility does not allow candidates to update certifications onsite; all certifications must be current at start
• Behavioral Health RNs may become eligible for Mental Health Professional RN designation on WA license if interested
