Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location

  • Columbus, Ohio

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • First shift position with rotating hours:
    • 08:00–16:30, 08:30–17:00, or 09:30–18:00
  • During holiday weeks: 4 shifts of 10 hours each
  • Occasional Saturdays required
  • Mobile shifts may vary between 06:30–19:00

Job Description

  • Primarily based at a Breast Center with possible support at a satellite location
  • Duties include screening and diagnostic mammography at the Breast Center; satellite location work is screening only
  • No biopsy procedures required
  • Patient ratio approximately 10-15 patients per shift
  • Outpatient setting

Required Experience & Skills

  • Mammography procedures experience including:
    • Screening mammography
    • Diagnostic mammography
    • Digital mammography
    • 3-D mammography
  • Experience with Digital Hologic (Tomo) preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • ARRT Mammography certification
  • ARRT Advanced Certification
  • Ohio Department of Health Mammography license

Required Background & Compliance Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including:
    • Social Security trace
    • Counties lived/worked
    • Nationwide check
    • Sex offender registry
    • Motor Vehicle Record (if driving is part of the job)
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific Ohio codes for processing
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
  • High school diploma or GED verification (if applicable)
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required annually
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or 3-vaccine series; declination acceptable)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1–3/31)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination accepted

Additional Requirements

  • Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
  • Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
  • Completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Unit-specific competency exams required
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs (if applicable)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (if applicable)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • ARRT Mammography certification
  • ARRT Advanced Certification
  • Experience working in an outpatient setting
