Job Opportunity: RRT-NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:15 AM – 6:45 PM)
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Transport: May be requested if within traveler's comfort level

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in New Hampshire
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider only
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA provider only
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider only

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Complete Social Security Verification and background checks within 30 days prior to start, including:
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • National Criminal Search
    • Education Verification
    • State and county criminal searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police search required)
    • Motor Vehicle Background Check (if applicable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days prior to start
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 14 days prior to start (no exceptions)
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance questionnaire required
  • Two current professional references within last 3 years (one must be a supervisor)
  • Employment application and skills checklist required

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD, Qgold, or T-spot within 1 year prior to start; TB questionnaire required for all travelers
  • Vaccinations/Immunizations:
    • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (medical or religious exemptions require documentation and approval)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart (no religious exemptions allowed)
    • Hepatitis B: Immune titer or 3 vaccines at least 28 days apart; declinations accepted with waiver
    • Varicella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; history of disease not accepted
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine required during October 31 – April 1 period; medical or religious exemptions require documentation and approval
  • Annual fit mask test required (N95 or equivalent masks); CAPR training available if fit test fails

Competency and Testing Requirements

  • Pass/Fail Basic Dysrhythmia (EKG) exam required for awareness (specific units only)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required (for internal purposes)
  • Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication awareness may be required onsite depending on unit assignment

Additional Facility Requirements

  • Passport-style photo (JPEG) for badge
  • Proof of auto insurance if driving to patient homes (Home Health/Hospice candidates)
  • Completion of facility-specific compliance attestations and acknowledgments (e.g., OSHA education, pass/fail testing)
  • Background check and license verifications must be uploaded with appropriate expiration dates

Important Notes

  • Candidates who have ever been employed by the associated health system are not eligible for travel assignments here, regardless of separation length
  • Agencies are responsible for running certain state-specific background checks if subcontracting
  • Exemptions for vaccines require formal documentation and approval by HR
  • Timely completion of all required documentation and clearances is mandatory for start clearance

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with NICU expertise who have prior travel contract experience and meet all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements.
