Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Shift Details

  • Day shift, 4 shifts per week
  • 10-hour shifts: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • 40 hours per week

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience
  • Endoscopy experience required
  • PACU experience preferred
  • Experience with 1:1 patient ratio required

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable
  • Certifications must be current; renewals can be completed at the facility

Required Licenses

  • Valid RN license for Ohio
  • NURSYS verification required

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start)
  • Unit-specific competency exam required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)

Background and Screening Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if applicable
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start using specific code (3701.881)
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
  • Education accreditation confirmation for nursing degree from CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accredited programs
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
  • TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test
  • Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if low titer
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series; signed declination acceptable
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declining
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

  • Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code and hand hygiene policy
  • Completion of Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting Mechanism Form
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
  • Annual review and acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
