Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - NICU

Shift Details

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday coverage expected

Job Description

• Float between Adult Critical Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Responsibilities include airway management and suctioning (endotracheal tube, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement), pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning, and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Use of ventilators such as Draeger V500 and Servo U
• Skills with respiratory medications and equipment including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex, aerosol setups, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Assist in weaning from mechanical ventilation and high-risk deliveries
• Comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred
• Preferred skills: Bronchoscopy, Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Theophylline

• Short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Total staffed beds: 338
• Scrub color: ceil blue (scrubs not provided)
• Flu vaccine required for all employees

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience (minimum 2 years), including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• Current BLS certification
• Respiratory Therapist experience
