Unit Profile
- Unit: Cardiac Care Unit (CCU)
- Number of beds: 32
- Patient ratio: 2:1
- Equipment: Hill-Rom beds, Phillips telemetry monitors
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: 4-week schedules with 3-4 weekend shifts required per period
- Floating: Float as needed based on unit census
- Unit staffing support: Student nurse externs as techs; unit secretary available Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Dress code: Scrubs (galaxy blue, red, black); scrub jackets or vests only
Job Description
- Must have cardiac experience and strong critical care skills
- Advanced skills preferred: PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, Impella, CRRT
- Procedures performed on unit: Central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, intubations
- Growing cardiogenic shock program with 12 beds dedicated to these patients
- Excellent teamwork and engaged staff environment
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of CCU (Coronary Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
