Description
Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry
- Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required prior to travel assignment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS and BLS certifications must be current; renew if expiring within 30 days of start
- Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) required during orientation for bedside RNs (except OR RNs)
- Core competency training required annually
- Completion of facility-specific online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone)
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required by agency systems (not by facility)
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried on assignment
- Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history, including 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
- Resume/CV required with 10 years work history if applicable (for certain roles)
- Completion of facility-specific safety and orientation acknowledgements
- Compliance with all facility health and safety policies, including latex allergy notification if applicable
Notes
- Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
- Candidates with breaks in employment longer than 30 days may need to update physical exam and eye exam
- Flu vaccine exemptions require agency approval and facility review
- Modules and onboarding must be completed before clearance to start; delays in module completion may delay start date
