Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Granbury, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Provide full-scope Labor & Delivery nursing care in an 8-bed unit, including Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum/Couplet Care. Responsibilities include:

  • Intrapartum management (induction/augmentation, high-risk labor monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation)
  • Circulating C-sections
  • Immediate newborn stabilization and participation in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Routine newborn assessments
  • Postpartum and couplet care for stable mothers and infants
  • Ability to function independently in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting
  • Flexibility to transition between labor, nursery, and couplet assignments based on census and staffing needs
  • Floating within Women’s Services

Shift: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:1 for labor, 3:1 for couplet care
Must work 1 major holiday if assignment overlaps
Maximum requested time off: 6 days within a 6-week period


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or ARC
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Ability to circulate C-sections
  • High-risk labor management
  • Participation in neonatal resuscitation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous rural hospital experience
  • Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model

Additional Information

  • No call required
  • No 48-hour option
  • No block guarantee, but attempts will be made to accommodate
  • Scrub color: Navy blue or pink
  • Electronic Medical Record systems used: GE Centricity Perinatal, Medhost for orders, charges, and medication scanning
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
