Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4 days per week, 10-hour shifts)
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the patient population on the assigned unit. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Systematically reassess patients to monitor progress and identify needs for intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care within established nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
- Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
- Participate in orientation of new staff and students.
- Serve as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff, promoting a positive work environment.
- Exhibit behaviors that promote patient satisfaction, respect patient rights and confidentiality, and support teamwork.
- Adapt to changes in work environment or schedule with flexibility and maintain a positive attitude.
- Comply with all policies related to patient and environmental safety, attendance, and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Additional Information
- On-call requirement: 1-2 weekends per month (8-10 days per month).
- No floating to other units required.
- Full-time position.
