Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)

Job Description
- Must be able and willing to cover both Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Adult patient populations.
- Open to floating to other campuses within reasonable distance.
- Patient age groups include NICU, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.
- Patient load includes managing approximately 5 ventilators and 6-8 RVUs.
- Work settings include Pulmonary Function Test Lab (preferred), Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department (ED), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and Pediatrics (required).
- Ventilator management experience required with Draeger and Servo I ventilators.
- Airway management skills required: extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning.
- Medication administration experience with respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled Flolan, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline, Tobramycin, Xopenex.
- Familiarity with medication delivery systems including aerosol setup masks, trach aerosol setups, Medihaler, and metered dose inhalers.
- Nebulizer experience with cold, handheld, heated, ultrasonic, T-piece, and trach collar types.
- Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, Flow-by, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
- Professional knowledge in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and basic EKG.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
Work Environment & Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, primarily day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Weekend coverage every other weekend.
- No on-call requirements.
- Scrubs dress code (any color).

- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for this travel position.
- Candidates without NICU experience or NRP certification will be screened out.
- Must be flexible to cover multiple patient populations and float as needed.
