Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU
Location
- Seattle, Washington
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 to 7:00)
- Total 36 hours per week
Patient Population
- Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Work Setting Experience
- Pulmonary Function Test Lab (preferred)
- Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, PICU, Pediatrics (required)
Patient Load
- Approximately 5 ventilators
- 6-8 RVUs
- 500 rooms
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities
- Airway management: extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning
- Medication administration including: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline, Tobramycin, Xopenex
- Medication delivery systems: aerosol mask and trach setups, Medihaler, metered dose inhaler
- Nebulizer types: cold, handheld, heated, ultrasonic, T-piece, trach collar
- Ventilator management: BiPAP, Flow-by, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Ventilators used: Draeger, Servo I (required)
- Professional knowledge: ABG interpretation, basic EKG
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
