Description

Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Schedule: Rotating weekends, call required Sunday nights only
  • Float: Required; may float between three campuses
  • Patient Population:
    • End stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, metabolic imbalances
    • Dialysis access problems, drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
    • Apheresis patients with neurologic, renal, hematologic/oncologic diseases
  • Care Environment:
    • Hemodialysis treatments provided 24/7 in a 9-bay department with 1 isolation room for Hep B patients
    • Telemetry monitoring available; central cardiac monitoring station at nurses’ station
    • Treatments for hemodynamically unstable ICU patients performed bedside
    • Peritoneal dialysis performed in patient rooms
  • Equipment Used:
    • Tablo Dialysis Devices
    • Baxter Amia PD Devices
    • Spectra Optia Apheresis Devices
  • Average Treatment Duration: 4-5 hours per hemodialysis/apheresis session

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience, with dialysis experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check:
    • Must be completed within 60 days of start date
    • Includes criminal, federal court, sex offender, education verification, aliases, and international searches if applicable
    • No open hits allowed; all cases must be cleared before start
  • Education Verification:
    • Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required
    • Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education obtained outside the U.S.
  • Work History:
    • 7 years of work history documented in employment application/resume
    • Verification of all employment within last 5 years required
  • References:
    • Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within last 24 months (one within 12 months)
  • Photo for Badge:
    • Must meet strict facility photo requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire)
  • Health Documents:
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
    • Immunizations/vaccinations required: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer or declination), Flu seasonal vaccination or approved exemption
    • TB testing (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start, with annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit mask test within current calendar year (N95 approved types)
    • Physical exam if applicable (not required for remote non-clinical)

Testing & Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher
  • Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Pass/fail with minimum 82%, 2 attempts allowed with remediation after first failure
  • EPIC Test: Required for RNs and allied candidates; 2 attempts allowed, 80% passing score

  • Candidates must be aware they are being submitted for this position and have reviewed the job description
  • Compliance deadline for all documentation is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
  • Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
