Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (South Carolina)

Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
- Weekend coverage: Every other weekend (may change based on need)
- Floating to other units may be required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Current BLS certification issued by AHA or ARC
- Current PALS certification issued by AHA or ARC
- Current NRP certification
- Current TNCC certification
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification
- Experience with EPIC documentation system
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, cannot expire within 30 days of start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, cannot expire within 30 days of start
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, cannot expire within 30 days of start
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) - one required, cannot expire within 30 days of start
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required; if not currently certified, must obtain after 365 consecutive days working with the facility
- Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., NRP, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification, EFM) — check unit specifics
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for South Carolina
- Primary source verification required; license must be current and not expire within 30 days of start
Systems and Technology
- EPIC documentation system experience required (minimum 1 year)
- Medication system: Omnicell
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Driver’s license required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start, including alias and multi-state/county searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Education verification of highest level completed required
- Drug screening within 1 year of start and updated annually (5-panel minimum)
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (if working in high-risk areas)
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually (not required for remote workers)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required; second vaccine can be pending if collected within 28 days of first
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination required
- Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation
Orientation and Training
- Online modules (~12 hours) must be completed within 72 hours of assignment; required before start
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation onsite
- Pass/fail medication and arrhythmia testing required prior to orientation (two attempts allowed, 84% passing score)
- Annual competency exams and core training (Parts I, II, III) required with minimum 80% passing score
Additional Requirements
- Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, plain background, no hats or sunglasses)
- Floating policy acknowledgment required annually
- Performance evaluations and internal evaluations required if working with the agency over 1 year
- Resume/application must include a 7-year work history

- First-time travelers will be reviewed based on experience; prior travel experience is not explicitly required
