Description
Registered Nurse - ICU Travel Position
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
- Number of Beds: 31
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1; may vary between 1:1 and 3:1 depending on patient acuity and staffing
- Equipment Used: Ventilators, External Ventricular Drains (EVDs), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Sustained Low-Efficiency Dialysis (SLED), EV 1000 monitoring system
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Staffing: Unit secretary available during day shifts; occasional nurse externs assist as techs
- Floating Policy: Contract nurses float first; may be required to float to med/surg units as needed
Schedule & Work Expectations
- Scheduling done in 4-week increments with some self-scheduling flexibility
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per schedule
- Manager may adjust shifts to balance staffing needs
- Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and families
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support)
Dress Code
- Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required
