Description

Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology (Registered Nurse)

Location

  • Battle Creek, Michigan

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 16 weeks

Shift Details

  • Day shift, 5 days a week (8 hours per day)
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • No call, weekend, or float requirements

Job Description

  • Work in adult outpatient oncology/hematology infusion area
  • Utilize IV pumps and hoyer lift for non-ambulatory patients
  • Chemotherapy infusion chairs that recline
  • Use computer carts on wheels to provide chairside care
  • Department includes 16 infusion chairs and 6 bedrooms
  • Onsite chemotherapy/immunotherapy mixing pharmacy
  • Collaborative team includes medical oncologists, nurses, medical assistants, social worker, dietician, nurse navigator, survivor nurse, specialty pharmacy liaison, and pastoral care
  • Clinic attached to hospital with access to emergency services

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
  • Minimum of 1 year of Hematology/Oncology experience, with experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
