Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)
Location
- Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Possible 4x12 shifts as well
Specialty & Patient Population
- Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Work primarily in NICU, PICU, CVICU with pediatric patients
- High-level care (Level 4) in NICU, PICU, and pediatric settings
- May float to other pediatric rehab and NICU units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- NBRC certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience working with neonate patients
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Two fingerprintings required:
- One onsite at the facility before start
- One through the agency
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search) required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Transcript/Diploma verification required
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
- HIPAA acknowledgment form required; updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (specific approved masks listed)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 6 months of start; annual renewal required
- Immunization or titer proof for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
- Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar area
- Unit-specific skills checklist required; updated annually
Additional Notes
- Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment
- Online training modules (4-5 hours) must be completed prior to start on a computer using Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
- Badge pickup required prior to start after completing modules
- All work history, including any prior positions at this facility, must be included in the profile
- Scheduling and time-off requests must be communicated during submission and interview
