Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)

• Contract Length: 12 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Possible 4x12 shifts as well

Specialty & Patient Population

• Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Work primarily in NICU, PICU, CVICU with pediatric patients
• High-level care (Level 4) in NICU, PICU, and pediatric settings
• May float to other pediatric rehab and NICU units

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
• NBRC certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Experience working with neonate patients

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Two fingerprintings required:

  • One onsite at the facility before start
  • One through the agency
• Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search) required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Transcript/Diploma verification required
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
• HIPAA acknowledgment form required; updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (specific approved masks listed)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 6 months of start; annual renewal required
• Immunization or titer proof for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
• Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar area
• Unit-specific skills checklist required; updated annually

Additional Notes

• Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment
• Online training modules (4-5 hours) must be completed prior to start on a computer using Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
• Badge pickup required prior to start after completing modules
• All work history, including any prior positions at this facility, must be included in the profile
• Scheduling and time-off requests must be communicated during submission and interview
