Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Location

Alamogordo, New Mexico

Employment Type

Travel assignment
Full-time, Night shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Contract Length

13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a perinatal setting.
Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegations.
Deliver care consistent with nursing standards, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments, monitor side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) care

Licenses & Certifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NRP certification
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certification in one of the following fetal monitoring courses:
- AWHONN Intermediate FHM
- NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants)

Additional Information

Must meet applicable nursing competencies related to leadership and clinical practice standards.
