MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position - Ohio, Akron
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Location: Akron, Ohio
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Work Schedule:
- Fridays: 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM (mix of inpatient and outpatient)
- Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (mostly outpatient)
- Equipment: Primarily GE 3T Discovery 750W MRI; may also use Siemens Sola 1.5T
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
Onboarding & Compliance
- Photo ID: Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment
- Training Modules:
- Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and safety modules prior to start
- Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video content must be watched before testing
- Badge pickup required after module completion for clearance to start
- Documentation:
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
- Driver’s license and name in system must match licensure documents
- Employment Application: Must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar specialty
- Skills Checklist: Required annually
Additional Notes
- Fingerprinting results must be received prior to contract extension; some Radiology/Cardiology specialties cannot start with pending results except X-Ray and MRI Techs.
- Travelers with breaks in employment of 2+ months must update background checks.
- Latex allergy notification required to ensure availability of latex-free gloves.
- Travelers returning to the facility after a break longer than 6 months may need to retake onboarding modules.
- Traveler’s legal name must be used consistently in all systems.
This position offers a structured weekend and Friday schedule primarily focused on outpatient MRI services with some inpatient work on Fridays. Compliance with extensive credentialing, immunization, and onboarding requirements is mandatory.
