Registered Nurse – MedSurg/PCU (Night Shift)

Location: Clarkston, Washington

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital setting, covering MedSurg and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) areas.
• Must be experienced in all assigned areas and flexible to work across departments as needed.
• Responsible for patient education, safety measures, infection control, and accurate documentation.
• Operate and troubleshoot essential equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and report critical lab values promptly.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts and supplies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• MedSurg nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and address patient and family education needs using appropriate methods.
• Implement patient safety measures including proper use of side rails, restraints, and equipment.
• Follow restraint policies and document appropriately.
• Adhere to infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses.
• Accurately document charge and complete physician orders timely, including 24-hour order checks if assigned.
• Provide thorough change-of-shift reports to incoming staff.
• Communicate clearly and completely with other departments.
• Restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
