Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in Labor and Delivery on night shift
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Use Meditech EMR system
• Provide maternal obstetric care including:

  • Well newborn care
  • Respiratory support and resuscitation
  • Attendance at high-risk and premature deliveries
  • Postpartum and couplet care
  • Antepartum triage nursing
  • OR circulator for Cesarean sections

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)

Additional Requirements

• First-time travel nurses are accepted
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius restriction from the facility
• No felony background or licensure actions accepted
• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during shifts
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
• Criminal background check required within 6 months prior to start (or within 30 days if hired after 12/14/25)
• Various federal and state background screenings required (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification required
• Completion of approximately 81 Relias training modules prior to first shift and orientation
• Badge photo required (no hats, sunglasses, filters, or shadows)
• Must sign facility-specific confidentiality and job description documents
• Employee health questionnaire and serial TB screening self-evaluation required
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Immunizations and titers required or facility-specific declination forms for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccine series)
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
  • COVID vaccination or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year required
• Drug testing (10-panel) required within 6 months prior to start (or 30 days if hired after 12/14/25); instant tests not accepted
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
• Performance evaluation required if previously completed assignments through any agency
• Skills checklist must be updated annually for applicable units

• Facility uses Meditech EMR
• Strict on background and licensure compliance
• Orientation may include up to 8 hours to complete required training modules
• Must be able to work night shifts consistently
