Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

• Muncie, Indiana

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift Details

• Night shift
• 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (17:30 to 6:00)
• Shift options: 3x12 or 4x12 hours
• Maximum of 5 consecutive workdays allowed
• Holiday shifts typically on a rotation basis

Work Setting

• Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• General Care and Adult Intensive Care units
• Preferred experience in Trauma, Teaching Hospital, and Emergency Room settings

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Indiana
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Respiratory care skills including:

  • Airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Ventilator management
  • Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Suctioning
  • Pulmonary toileting
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • BiPAP and CPAP
• Preferred skills:

  • Bronchoscopy experience
  • Familiarity with Cerner documentation system
  • Experience with Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 ventilators

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
• Background checks within 90 days including:

  • 7-year residential/work history
  • SSN trace, county, state, national sex offender, and FACIS Level III checks
  • Education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Official transcript or diploma verifying degree and graduation date (may be pending at start)
• Online license verification within 30 days before start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators; exceptions apply)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Color blindness exam (Ishihara or equivalent, 100% minimum score)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam and unit competency exam required

References & Employment History

• Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years
• References must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or higher (team lead acceptable for allied health)
• Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps of 30+ days
• Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually

• First-time travelers and local candidates accepted
• Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
• On-site fit testing available only with prior approval; PAPR use requires facility approval
• On-site PAPR automatically approved at select campuses (not applicable here)
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
