Description

Scientist - Lab (Travel Position)

Location

  • Tyler, Texas

Employment Type

  • Travel assignment
  • Full-time, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Job Summary

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures including specimen processing, testing patient specimens, quality control, and instrument operation/maintenance.
  • Assist in developing new procedures and protocols.
  • May perform phlebotomy and other patient-oriented tasks.
  • Cross-train in multiple laboratory sections as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize Laboratory Information System for data entry and verification.
  • Notify and document critical laboratory values.
  • Adapt patient care methods to meet specific population needs.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies and uphold organizational core values.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Medical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year, OR
  • Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489, including U.S. Military laboratory training courses of at least 50 weeks, OR
  • Educational background evaluated by an acceptable credentialing agency and deemed equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or medical technology.

Certifications

  • Must hold current certification as MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT.
  • Certification must be maintained and kept current.
