Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Acute Care Hospital setting with 210 staffed beds
• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio experience required: 1:6
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating within scope required, including rapid response team duties
• Strong telemetry experience required; mixed unit with high acuity patients
• Mandatory clinical orientation week: 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
• No block scheduling allowed
• No return to office (RTO) during first or last week of assignment
• Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience on Rapid Response team
• Total joints experience
• Float experience within scope, including rapid response duties

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Floating required, including rapid response and total joint experience
• Must be able to work mandatory 5 shifts during orientation week
• Strict attendance policy: 3 call outs result in termination
• Shift change notices:

  • 48 hours notice refusal may forfeit guaranteed hours
  • 1 week or more notice refusal may result in termination
• If holidays fall within assignment:

  • 1-2 holidays: work 1 evening and 1 holiday shift
  • 3 holidays: work 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Charting system: Meditech
• Scrub color: any

Orientation & Compliance Documents

• Facility-specific job description and orientation packets must be completed
• Non-employee orientation quiz and confidentiality statements required
• Pyxis authorization form required for RNs
• Various facility-specific minimum requirement documents must be reviewed and signed
• eLearning modules assigned prior to start, with a final due date the Monday before start week
• Fit testing for masks completed onsite during first week

Summary

This is a high-acuity, mixed medical-surgical and telemetry travel RN position on nights requiring strong telemetry skills, floating, and rapid response experience. The role demands strict adherence to attendance and compliance policies, completion of orientation and competency requirements, and possession of all required certifications and clearances. Candidates must be prepared for a 13-week contract with mandatory orientation and weekend shifts every other week.
