X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Christiansburg, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Evening, Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (5x8 hours)
• Possibility of 10-hour shifts depending on staffing
• Patient population includes adolescents, infants, adults, and geriatrics
• May be required to float to other units based on staffing needs
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates not accepted due to radius restrictions

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in Virginia (or emergency authorization granted while permanent license is processing)
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only)
• Fluoroscopy (Fluro) experience
• Operating Room (OR) experience
• X-Ray Technician experience

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
• E-Verify or attestation required
• 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years (must be within 1 year of start)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification of highest earned degree required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) or clear chest X-ray if previously positive, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for students)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Immunizations or positive titers required for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Photo for badge (professional quality, plain background)
• Completion of facility-specific new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
• Acknowledgement of orientation manual prior to start
• Two clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Completed employment application/resume
• Annual skills checklist update required

Additional Notes

• Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• All requests for time off must be submitted with application
• Prior travel experience is not accepted for this position (no first-time travelers)

This position is ideal for experienced X-Ray Technologists with fluoroscopy and OR experience who hold an active license and are able to commit to a 13-week travel contract with evening shifts.
