Description

Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:30)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Work in a Transplant ICU setting.
No on-call duties; on-call every other weekend (EOW).
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in District of Columbia.
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including ICU experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or ARC.
ACLS certification.
Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Experience managing multi-system organ failure.
Knowledge and experience with IV insulin protocols.
Experience in GI surgery care.
Experience managing chronic and acute renal failure.
Experience in CVA/acute stroke management.
Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD).
Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun.
Experience with ICP monitoring.
Experience in post-neurosurgery management.
Experience caring for spinal cord injury patients.
Experience caring for traumatic brain injury patients.
Experience managing surgical wounds with drains and wound vac.
