Description

Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)

Location

Webster, Texas
Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Floor: 2nd, Heart Tower
EMR system: Meditech

Contract Length

13 weeks

Work Schedule

Approximately 36 hours per week
On call: average 4-5 days per month
Weekend on call: 1 weekend per month
No night shift coverage on this unit

Unit Details

3 Operating Rooms
26 staff members total
Day shift skill mix: 4 RNs and Surgical Technologists each daily
Patient ratio: 1:1
Floating area: Main OR
Scrub color/attire provided by unit

Typical Procedures

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
Valve Replacement
Carotid Endarterectomy
Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
Angiogram
Fistulagram and Fistula Creation
Lower extremity Bypass

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications: BLS and ACLS
Experience in vascular surgery

Preferred Skills

Open heart and vascular surgery experience
Operating room experience

Work Environment

Fast-paced setting requiring adaptability and strong clinical skills

This position is ideal for RNs with cardiovascular OR experience seeking a travel assignment in a specialized surgical unit.
