Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 48
Job Description
- Position requires working every other weekend.
- Floating between multiple hospital campuses may be required.
- First-time travel therapists are accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Indiana.
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current BLS certification.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy).
- Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, county/state/national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level III, and education verification.
- Online verification of Indiana license within 30 days before start.
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start with approved respirators (3M N95 models or Honeywell N95).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tuberculosis test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30–3/31)
- Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with 100% minimum score.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam and unit competency exam required.
- HIPAA and facility-specific compliance forms must be completed prior to start.
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years.
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days.
Additional Notes
- Indiana RN travelers are restricted from working at these facilities effective 11/30/2024, except for Perioperative/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers.
- On-site fit testing and PAPR use have specific facility approvals and limitations.
- Failure to complete mandatory RRT modules by the deadline will result in automatic push of start date.
- Candidates will be paid for time spent completing mandatory modules.
- Floating may include multiple hospital campuses within the system.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced RRTs with ICU background seeking a travel contract in Indiana with night shifts and weekend requirements.
