Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – IMC

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:45–07:15)
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in Intermediate Care (IMC), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown, or similar settings.
  • Float coverage required to Telemetry and/or Medical-Surgical units as needed.
  • Weekend coverage every other weekend; scheduling directed by unit operational needs.
  • Patient ratios typically 1:5 or 1:6 on Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required.
  • Up-to-date immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred.
  • Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site).
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple specified substances.

Background & Compliance

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during employment.
  • Education verification for highest degree required by position.
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates.
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency (minimum 80% passing score).

Additional Information

  • Candidates must complete all required documentation and attestations prior to start.
  • Photo for badge must meet specified criteria (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).
  • Float assignments may include Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units.
  • Weekend coverage is mandatory every other weekend.
  • This position accepts local candidates within 60 miles at a different rate (not disclosed here).
