Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Titusville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

  • Total Staffed Beds: 210
  • Charting System: Meditech
  • Parking: Free in any unrestricted space

Job Requirements

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Rapid Response team experience
  • Experience with total joint patients
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • Floating within scope of practice required
  • No block scheduling allowed
  • Must be available for mandatory clinical orientation week: 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
  • No Return to Office (RTO) during first or last week of assignment
  • Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)
  • Call-out policy: 3 call outs result in termination
  • Shift change notice policies apply (48 hours or 1 week advance with consequences for refusal)
  • Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment

Orientation & Training

  • Completion of facility-specific job description and orientation packet required
  • Completion of eLearning modules prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
  • Non-employee orientation quiz and information form must be completed promptly
  • Clinical orientation acknowledgment and safety manual acknowledgment required
  • Pyxis Authorization Form required for RNs
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams with passing score of 84% or higher
  • Color Blind Testing through Relias (score 80% or higher)
  • Competency exams as applicable

Background & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check within 6 months including social security trace, education verification, nationwide checks, and motor vehicle record if applicable
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
  • Education verification of RN degree (ASN, BSN, or MSN) required; certain schools are not accepted
  • Two professional references within last 2 years required
  • Performance evaluation on file within last year if previously assigned through any agency
  • Skills checklist required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
  • Required vaccinations or documented immunity (or approved waivers) for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Seasonal Flu (vaccination or declination)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption (religious or medical)
  • 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Fit mask testing completed onsite during first week

Additional Notes

  • Must be willing to float as needed within scope of practice
  • Strong emphasis on telemetry and high acuity patient care skills
  • Strict adherence to attendance and shift change policies
  • Facility maintains a tobacco-free, non-smoking environment
  • Candidates must review and sign multiple facility-specific acknowledgments and policies

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with strong telemetry skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high acuity mixed unit environment during night shifts. Orientation and compliance requirements are extensive and must be completed timely to ensure a smooth start.
